Happiest of Birthdays Watercolor

2:39 PM

Hey there!

I finally worked up the courage to submit my first card into the Simon Says Stamp Blog  Challenges! :) Yay! I always enjoy looking at what other card makers create, but I never seemed to feel like I should submit something I made!

This card was made using Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper with various thick washes of Distress Ink in strips. I used Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, and Squeezed Lemonade. A few of the stripes are actually a blend of some the inks together. :)

After the background was dry, I clear, heat-embossed the birthday sentiment and added some yellow baker's twine around the card. The entire piece is adhered to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" black piece of card stock, and added to a white card base.

I had a lot of fun making this card and am excited to start getting involved with the Simon Says Stamp Blog Challenges! :)

Thanks for reading! :)
